The Atlantic Project
Taking place in various public contexts and outdoor locations across Plymouth, The Atlantic Project is a pilot for a new international festival of contemporary art. Curated by Tom Trevor, artists involved included Tommy Støckel, Liu Chuang, Hito Steyerl, Vermeir & Heiremans, Donald Rodney, Postcommodity, Ryoji Ikeda, Carl Slater, Superflex and Uriel Orlow.

As part of a complete brand identity, Intercity created a number of logo-types for the festival, inspired by the visual abstraction created by moving water, as well as the distorted letterforms of CAPTCHA digital technology. To accompany these, we also created a glitch-based animated graphic of the Atlantic Ocean - stills of which were then combined with the various logo-types to create multiple design applications. In addition to the main identity itself, Intercity also designed all of the festival collateral, including digital and print posters, banners, flyers, invites, signage, a fully responsive website and a 108 page programme with wrap-around map.
