Reworlding

The sixth instalment in our ongoing partnership with the MA Curation course at the University of Exeter, Reworlding was the overall project title for a series of exhibitions and site-specific installations, curated by the class of 2026. The exhibition investigated the notion of ‘repair’, and reimagining our shared reality in response to current social, ecological and technological crises.

Choosing to explore a hand-made aesthetic, and loosely inspired by kintsugi (the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery), our identity picks up on the themes of making and mending – a reference to how craft can encourage connections and skill-sharing across multiple generations.

After Intercity suggested a number of initial design directions for the identity, the final visual concept was agreed upon through a workshop with the curators. We then collaborated with the curators to hand-stitch a number of title options, based on a template designed by Intercity. After various layout and colour tests, the final visual was created in collaboration with Liv Pattimore, co-curator of the Phantom Threads exhibition.
